Meg Kockx
Meg Kockx is an interdisciplinary artist who grew up on the traditional territory of the Wsanec people, also known as Victoria BC. Her primary mediums include photography, video art, and painting. She seeks to explores themes of identity and fragments of time that combine personal experience, and observations on human behaviour. Often depicted are two realms within her work: one of the physical and one of the ethereal. Within her creations, the human figure can be found embedded into a dreamlike tapestry of worlds of an ever-present hybrid reality. By emerging the physical and non-physical components together, it creates a highly charged duality of the known, and the unknown. Her work does not arrive at a final answerer, rather an on-going visual conversation between works. Meg Kockx is a fourth year Visual Art Student at the University of Victoria.
